What language do you speak on Twitter ?
In France, I've read that only 60% of the "tweets" are ... in French. And 1% of users are French on this microblogging website.
Of course, Twitter is a worldwide media. Where do all the tweets come from ? A recent study from Sysomos shows that :
- 30% from USA
- 15% from Japan
- 12% from Brazil
- 10% from Indonesia
- 6% from the UK
Where are the Germans ? the French ? even Corean ?
About 50% of the messages are posted in English. And you, what language do you speak on Twitter ?
Want more figures ?
- 85.3% of all Twitter users post less than one update/day
- 93.6% of users have less than 100 followers, while 92.4% follow less than 100 people.
- 5% of Twitter users account for 75% of all activity
- More than 50% of all updates are published using tools – mobile and Web-based – other than
